The Washington Stage Guild was founded in 1986 by a company of D.C. area actors, artisans, and administrators dedicated to producing a distinctive repertory of theatrical work in a congenial and supportive atmosphere. Specializing in neglected classics, foreign plays unfamiliar in America, and new works of outstanding merit, the company has gained international acclaim for its literate and lively presentations. The Stage Guild has become known as the place to find plays by Molnar, Schnitzler, Pirandello, Jonson, Marivaux, Wilde, Beaumarchais, and contemporary writers Friel and Fugard. Most of all the company has earned a reputation as one of the world's preeminent presenters of the plays of George Bernard Shaw. Thanks for joining us in this, our twentieth season of presenting the Washington area with a distinctive repertory of plays rarely seen elsewhere, in productions for which the Washington Stage Guild has gained international acclaim. Be sure you're on our mailing list for the first word about all our upcoming performances. Website Design, Hosting & Maintenance by Basic Sites. |
